Components are smaller items that build into larger, more powerful "parent" items, creating upgrade trees. When you purchase an upgraded item, the shop automatically deducts the cost of any components you already own. This process consumes the component, forcing you to choose which upgrade path to follow.

For example, you can purchase Extra Spirit for Souls 800. From there, you have a choice:

  • You can upgrade it into Improved Spirit for an additional Souls 800 (total cost Souls 1600).
  • Alternatively, you could use it to build Surge of Power for an additional Souls 2400 (total cost Souls 3200).

However, once you upgrade to Improved Spirit, your Extra Spirit is consumed. To then purchase Surge of Power, you would need to pay its full Souls 3200 price, as you no longer own the required component.
