Deadlock:AI Policy

TL;DR: Original AI-generated content is not permitted on wiki.gg. If the wiki is documenting an entertainment property that contains AI content, you can include that content for the purposes of documentation.

AI content in the source material

If the source material contains AI content, that will not be counted as "AI content" for the purposes of this policy. This holds true whether you are the creator of the source material or not.

AI tools to supplement your own creation

It is allowed to use AI tools to assist in the creation of illustrated diagrams, code, and text. For example, the following are all allowed:

  • Using AI to compose a Lua function for you, which you then test thoroughly before deploying
  • Using an AI grammar checker to improve your text
  • Using AI to help cut out a character portrait from a screenshot

AI tools to create original content

It is NOT allowed to use AI tools to create content for you. For example, the following are not allowed:

  • Using AI to translate your content into a language you don't know
  • Using AI to generate paragraph text about your topic and then pasting it into a content page without review
  • Using AI to generate images to be used as wiki assets (favicon, logo, background or border images, etc)

With the sole exception:

  • If you use AI to generate CSS, wikitext, or Lua code for you and test it, and it works, you don't need to necessarily understand the code. However, if you later need help customizing the AI-generated code, you must disclose to wiki.gg staff that it was AI-created, and we reserve the right to decline assistance depending on the complexity.
    • Please note, you may NOT use AI to generate JavaScript code that you don't understand, as this can result in security vulnerabilities.
