* [[Pure Damage]] does not trigger the reverb or use the imbued lifesteal. If an ability has bonus Pure Damage like the blessed stakes of {{HeroIcon|Venator}}'s {{AbilityIcon|Ira Domini}}, it will not be used to calculate the damage of the reverb.
** Mystic Reverb can be imbued on {{HeroIcon|Lady Geist}}'s {{AbilityIcon|Soul Exchange}}, but it has no effect.
* Abilities that only deal [[Melee Damage]] such as {{HeroIcon|Viscous}}' {{AbilityIcon|Puddle Punch}} or {{HeroIcon|Calico}}'s {{AbilityIcon|Leaping Slash}} can be imbued, though they cannot activate the reverb or use the imbued lifesteal. 
**{{ItemIcon|Spirit Snatch}} applies after the melee damage and does not allow melee abilities to use Mystic Reverb.
**However, {{ItemIcon|Quicksilver Reload}} and {{ItemIcon|Mercurial Magnum}} grant bonus spirit damage to the imbued ability's first hit of weapon or spirit damage and can activate the debuff.
