Overview

Yoshi is known for being the developer at Valve who most often engages with the Deadlock community through the official Discord and forums, as well as posting announcements and patch notes. They are nicknamed after the character Yoshi from Super Mario Bros.

Yoshi's real identity is currently unknown, but it has been confirmed to be an individual account.^[2]

Trivia

On August 28, 2026, Yoshi said that the Deadlock development team would "order a ton of pizza" before the next major update.^[3] This is a reference to the Pentagon pizza index and the derivative memes that try to use pizza parlor activity near Valve's office to predict future announcements.^[4]^[5]
