When attempting to attach to a Transit Line, you gain acceleration. This acceleration allows you to gain speed from attaching, enabling techniques such as Zip Dashes to be executed effectively without riding for a significant amount of time.

For one tick just before grabbing and entering the riding animation, the game applies an extreme amount of velocity to "snap" you to an acceptable position. If you cancel riding the Transit Line using crouch on this tick, you can transfer this acceleration into an actionable state and use it for movement. This is called Zip Launching.

Zip Launching is a one-tick action and cannot be buffered. There is no penalty aside from time for failing, and you can still perform a Zip Dash or use Zipline Momentum Conservation for additional speed.

Zip Launching heavily depends on your transit line attachment angle and position; position yourself perpendicular to corners and bends for maximum speed. Speeds range from approximately 1300 to 5900 u/s.

Zip Launching is an effective rotation tool when executed correctly. Multiple consecutive Zip Launches are the fastest way to move and rotate across lanes and can serve as a strong initiation tool in lane.

Zip Launching can be reliably performed when approaching the end of a transit line.
