Items are in-game equipment that provide Heroes with bonus attributes and special abilities. There are currently Items count items available for purchase from any Curiosity Shop on the game map, as well as Street Brawl Legendary items available only in the Street Brawl mode. Every item also has an "Enhanced" variant in Street Brawl.

Heroes start with nine item slots in their inventory which can hold an item of any type. Additionally, there are three Extra Slots that can be unlocked after completing certain map objectives.

Items are split into four tiers based on their price. All items within a tier have the same price. If an item has a component, the player gets a discount equal to the price of the component if they had purchased it first. If an item is a component to multiple items, the player only receives a discount on the first upgraded item.

Purchased items can be sold back to the shop, allowing the player to recoup half of the cost.

__TOC__

Item Types
There are three types of items:

* Weapon: Focus on improving base weapons, damage, and bullet effects.
* Vitality: Focus on improving survivability, defense, and movement.
* Spirit: Focus on improving abilities and spirit power.
Spending Souls on items of each type provides corresponding stats bonuses. The strength of the bonus is dependent on the total cost of the items of each type owned by the player, up to 28,800 Souls.

At 4,800, the player gains a significant investment bonus. You can view a graph of the investment bonus over investment here.
Active Items
Active Items provide additional, temporary effects when activated by a key press. Upon being purchased, they must be bound to one of four individual keys for activation. As a result, a player cannot hold more than four active items at a time.
