Duncan Naoki Drummond, a.k.a Hopoo, is a Deadlock developer. He is best known for creating Risk of Rain. His username in the official Deadlock Discord is @hopoo.

Overview

Hopoo was the co-founder of Hopoo Games and has since been hired by Valve, along with other former Hopoo Games' staff.[1]

Hopoo is the lead developer of the heroes Vyper and Sinclair,[2] and also worked on Calico, Holliday, Mina, Paige, and Victor.[3][4]

  • Duncan created the game Deadbolt at Hopoo Games, released in 2016. Coincidentally, "deadbolt" is a synonym for "deadlock".[5]
    • Deadbolt and Deadlock both feature a plot about supernatural creatures arriving on Earth, demons, candle people, a fire-themed patron god, and a currency called "souls", although it's important to note that all of these were present in Deadlock before Hopoo's involvement.
