Finding Lash "ruminating" on an I-beam, Ivy gives him his court summons and tells Lash that there were a group of people below them who were waiting for him to come down. Lash tells Ivy that that's why he's up there, and he's deciding "whose teeth he's gonna kick in first". Ivy offers to scare the group off, but Lash tells her he isn't running and intends to fight the group by himself.
 
In Chapter 4e, Lash, accompanied by Ivy, proceeds to fight the group of thugs waiting for Lash. One of the thugs mentions [[Mendoza]], which catches Ivy's attention as she thought Mendoza left New York. After beating up the thugs, Ivy asks Lash if he can take her to Mendoza, to which Lash agrees.
