The Lore of ''Deadlock'' is pieced together from various sources: Hero backstories, [[:Category:Quotes|voice lines]], the environment, and the unreleased [[Visual Novels|visual novels]].

Hero backstories can be found in-game in the lower-right corner book icon of the hero select screen.

== Storyline ==

The supernatural always existed in the world of ''Deadlock,'' but only when an eclipse triggered an event known as the [[Maelstrom]] near the end of the 19th century, which opened [[Astral Gates]] across the world, did the world at large accept it wasn't just myth.

Now, 50 years later, two [[Patron|Patrons]], the {{PageRef|Hidden King}} and the {{PageRef|Archmother}}, are trying to enter this plane, promising to fulfill the wish of anyone that helps them by completing the ritual. The ritual includes two teams fighting each other in a battle in the streets of the [[Cursed Apple]], trying to prevent the other team from summoning their patron.
