* Tankbuster is a [[Charge-Up]] item, thus not affected by [[Cooldown Reduction]].
* In order to trigger the additional damage, the triggering spirit damage must exceed the threshold after damage reduction calculations, including spirit armor and damage reductions (e.g. from Inhibitor).
* Tankbuster only goes on cooldown when it affects enemy heroes. It will not go on cooldown when you hit an [[NPC]].
* Interaction with spirit shields: The triggering of the additional damage is entirely unaffected by the target's spirit shields (or lack thereof). The spirit resistance of the target is always taken into account when calculating whether the damage is above the triggering threshold.
* While the tooltip only specifies "Abilities", only Spirit Damage will activate Tankbuster. Abilities dealing [[Weapon Damage|Weapon]], [[Melee Damage|Melee]] or [[Pure Damage]] will not activate Tankbuster (unless they have a Spirit component).
 
* Tankbuster has inconsistent interactions with different sources of damage resist and amplification.
