One day, Sophia Arroyo and one of her parents were attacked in the streets by thugs, but were saved by [[Ivy]], who was then adopted by the Arroyo's. For the next 18 years, Ivy spent her life fighting against the Mendoza Syndicate to free Spanish Harlem for the Arroyo's<ref name=":0">{{PageRef|name=Ivy}}'s background</ref>.

In the current day, the Arroyo's live happily with Ivy in a Mendoza-free Spanish Harlem. Carlos and Maria had a son named "Manny", while Sophia was heading off for college.
