An Ability Point is used to level up a hero's abilities. This generally makes the abilities stronger and more versatile. Ability points are gained by leveling up the hero via souls, or by delivering the Soul Urn.

Leveling an ability requires varying amount of Ability Points for each subsequent level, requiring 1, 2, and 5 Ability Points respectively. When leveling an ability, there is a brief window of time where the player can refund the upgrade, if they haven't used any abilities.

Obtaining Ability Points

The most common way to gain ability points is by leveling up. It costs 32 ability points in total in order to max out all of the abilities in the hero's kit. The player can unlock 29 ability points by leveling up, and unlock the additional 3 points by delivering the Urn 3 times to max all abilities.

Delivering the Soul Urn will grant the courier 1 Ability Point in addition to souls.
