Cosmic Veils are visual barriers located around the Map at all Juke Rooms and beneath most structural arches. They do not block movement, but slightly obscure vision beyond the barrier acting like one-way window film. Depending on the side, the barrier will either be of a gray colorless filter or rainbow shine filter.

On the gray colorless side, it will block out any perception of color and more importantly hide all enemy heroes as well as abilities performed by any player from the opposite side. Several visual effects will be visible but most player created game objects cannot be seen through the gray side.

Meanwhile, the rainbow shine side will allow players to see others on the other side of the cosmic veil. As such, this game mechanic is often used as a means in positioning to attack enemies with surprise or escaping from a chase.

Notable Interactions[edit | edit source]

An item that takes advantage of the abundance of these cosmic veils while providing additional benefits from their usage is the Tier 4 Vitality Item, Veil Walker, which can be purchased from the Shop for Souls6,000.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The rainbow shine side of a cosmic veil is based on a real world natural phenomenon called thin-film interference, where white light is split into different wavelengths creating a rainbow pattern on a thin-film formed on soap, oil, types of protective coating, etc.
