“The only thing I expect from Paradox is style over substance.
The Paradox Organisation is a guild of thieves who want to show the world that there's nothing they can't steal.
Summary
The Paradox Organisation, also known as Paradox for short, is a group of bored rich thieves who steal various objects of interest.[1] Whatever Paradox steals is presented at the Paradox Museum, a pop-up gallery open to the public with the intention of showing the world that Paradox can steal from anyone.[2]
The Paradox Organisation does not exclusively steal artifacts: they also steal state secrets and blackmail on celebrities.[2]
Paradox (the playable character) is one member of the Paradox Organisation. Each member of Paradox wears a mask and a coat,[3][4] and gives up their name to join the organisation.[5]
The members of Paradox work mostly independently, gathering together a few times a year to discuss their thefts.[6][1] The thefts of each Paradox member is "based on individual interest and challenge".[7]
The Paradox Organisation has a council.[8] It's implied by The Doorman that Paradox is afraid of being seen as a failure by the council.[9]
The origins of the Paradox Organisation are unknown. Their oldest known theft seems to be one of Johann Geist's paintings, which happened 50 years before the events of the game.[10][11]
Thefts
The Paradox Organisation has had several artifacts on its radar. Some thefts have been successful, some have yet to be committed, and some have failed.
- Paradox has successfully stolen The Ghent Altarpiece, the Tome of Anubis, some form of blackmail on Fairfax,[12] a hellenistic Bust of Homer,[13] one of Johann Geist's paintings,[14][11] Booth's Deringer,[15] and the location of
Seven's safehouse.[16] - The Paradox Organisation has shown interest in robbing
Kelvin's home during the ritual.
Paradox, the playable hero, has shown personal interest in
Abrams' tome,[17]
Holliday's revolver,[18]
McGinnis' research and secrets she holds for Fairfax,[19][20] Nashala,[21] rare books
Paige may have,[22]
Pocket's suitcase,[23] and
Yamato's sword.[24] - The Paradox Organisation has tried, and failed, to break into the Baxter Society's Manor House, although they haven't given up trying.[25] They have also been unsuccessful at breaking into the Baroness Hotel.[26] The Paradox Organisation keep trying to steal
Celeste's horn.[27]
