Charges into close combat

Abrams has the bulk and sustain to lead from the front, often running into the middle of his foes and watching them scatter. If his enemies waste their fire on him, his backline teammates can lay out damage with impunity.

Abrams is a Hero in Deadlock. He is a hard-boiled, hard-hitting bruiser of a character that focuses on engaging groups of enemies and relying on his high health, high damage output, and life draining ability to stay in the fight. With a powerful area stun and a devastating shoulder charge, Abrams can isolate fragile targets from the rest of the team and set-up his more damaging allies to finish them off.

A capable and well-known detective of New York, Abrams solved crimes ranging from kidnappings to ritual murders. One day, a mysterious Tome was left on his desk with a note of "Don't let them have it" scrolled in Onyx blood; followed by car bombings and break-ins to his office. Now, Abrams is trying to figure out just what the hell is going on.

Background[edit | edit source]

Hard hitting, hard headed, and hard drinking; Detective Abrams has been a fixture on the New York investigating scene for years. From stolen art, to missing persons, to ritual murders; Abrams didn't just take any case that came across his desk... he solved them.

But his days of following cheating spouses came to an end the day he opened his office door and found The Tome sitting on his desk.

No instruction was left for him save for a brief note scrawled in onyx blood that read "Don't let them have it". Abrams hasn't figured where the thing came from; but seeing as his home has been broken into, his office tossed on 3 different occasions, and his car firebombed he has a vested interest in figuring out what the hell is going on.

A FATE'S TALE

Lore[edit | edit source]

Abrams is Ixian.[1] However, unlike Infernus, he does not demonstrate control over fire.

Abrams likes to drink whiskey.[2]

Character interactions[edit | edit source]

  • In one of the endings of The Binding of Oathkeeper, Abrams moves to Lady Geist's apartment.
  • Grey Talon says his "stepdaughter" is Ixian, like Abrams.[1] However, it seems that the intended term was "daughter-in-law", as evidenced by Talon's background and Abrams' response.
  • Abrams is surprised that Infernus has never visited Ixia.[3]
  • Abrams calls Infernus "his bartender".[4]
  • Abrams plays in Wraith's weekly poker game.[5] Wraith calls him Abe.[6]
  • Paradox is interested in the Tome. She also warns Abrams to stop investigating her organization.[5]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Abrams was named Atlas in Neon Prime, and also known as Bull. The icon for Infernal Resilience has a bull design.
  • Abrams is voiced by Samoa Joe, a professional wrestler.[7]
    • Haze may call Abrams a "juggernaut".[8] Samoa Joe voiced the character Juggernaut in Dota Underlords.
  • Abrams' Tome contains a ripped page matching Oathkeeper's sign.[9]
  • The first version of Abrams' Tome in-game used textures from TF2's Bombinomicon.
  • In The Binding of Oathkeeper artwork, Abrams has spikes on his back.
  • Abrams was the only hero who had unique animations in the shop menu screen. These animations have been removed.
  • Abrams was made slightly taller in an unlisted patch change around November 2024.
  • Abrams' updated model was first leaked in the 2024-12-06 Update, and later removed. Compared to the final model, this version had slightly different facial hair and still had his old book model.
