Shadowline was an early development version of Deadlock.

Overview

[edit | edit source]

Not much is known about Shadowline. It was presumably a transitional version from Neon Prime to the Deadlock Cursed Apple setting that existed in 2022-2023. The web domain playshadowline.com and twitter account @PlayShadowline were registered in November 2023.

In this version, the ziplines were called "shadowlines",[1] and Astral Gates were "shadowline nexus". The shadowlines were presumably based on ley lines.

Mentions

[edit | edit source]
  • The Shopkeeper narrated an old version of the tutorial that refers to the game as Shadowline.[2][1]
  • Kelvin referenced a shadowline in one of his voice lines when upgrading his Ice Path. The voice line has since been removed.[3]
  • In Viscous' background, the Bermuda Triangle Astral Gate is described as a "shadowline nexus".
