“Macomb matters a lot to you, but to him it was just a fun time that'll get lost in the ocean of memory... but if you find him, if he knows he got his hooks in you? You gonna be his hobby.
"The Troubadour" is the name given by media for a serial killer who commited a killing spree in the town of Macomb in central Illinois.
Overview
[edit | edit source]The Troubadour was confronted by the town's sheriff, Holliday, but he managed to escape by turning into a murder of crows and flying away, although Holliday still has been looking for him. Both she and the New York Oracle speculate that The Troubadour is flying from Champaign–Urbana to New York.[1] Holliday's visual novel tells the story of her hunt for the Troubadour.
It is implied that Holliday's late sister might have been a victim of the Troubadour.[2][3]
The Drifter tells Infernus that he's not the Troubadour, and that he only knows him by reputation.[4] He claims to be more dangerous than the Troubadour,[5] and advises Holliday against hunting the Troubadour.[6]
Holliday is disappointed that the Baxter Society isn't hunting the Troubadour. Shiv says the Society is dealing with their own problems, which could potentially be more dangerous than the Troubadour.[7] Calico says she knows enough about the Troubadour to stay away from him.[8]
One of Holliday's post-visual novel interaction with Seven suggests that the OSIC wants to recruit the Troubadour.[9]
According to The Doorman, the Troubadour's actions in Macomb took away the Baroness' title of "most haunted hotel in America".[10]
