Calico/LoreGive feedback
As a contract killer, Calico is glad to finally be earning significant money by assassinating other people. Despite the good that the Baxter Society did by slaying monsters, it simply didn't pay well enough for her.

Backstory
See Calico/Lore for more story content.
“Once a decorated member of The Baxter Society, Calico left the august order once she realized that killing monsters for free was less profitable than killing people for money.
Now an in demand contract killer, Calico is living her best life ending someone else's.
Overview
Calico's motivation in the ritual is vague, but she seems to want to be the "Apex Predator" by wishing for power and protection.[1][2]
Biography
Calico has been an assassin for at least 5 years, as she was hired to kill Pocket 5 years before the events of the ritual.[3] Pocket survived the assassination attempt due Calico's bullet missing their heart.[4] It's implied that this failed assassination earned Calico a reputation for "sloppy work" amongst other assassins.[5]
Calico is nicknamed as "the most dangerous woman on the planet".[6][7] She's currently being hunted by the International Police,[8] Scotland Yard,[9] and the OSIC.[10][11] She once assassinated someone named "Siegfried" under Mirage's nose.[12]
Calico has a son.[13]
Personality
Calico is very knowledgeable, knowing things about the Deep,[14][15] the Troubadour,[16] and Oathkeeper.[17] She's implied to know something about Victor's origins.[18]
Information
Calico learned Return to Shadows while she was in the Baxter Society.[19]
Character Relationships
Ava is Calico's cat familiar.[20]
Calico adores Ava and refers to herself as "mummy" when talking to Ava.[21][22]
It's implied that Calico makes biscuits for Ava to eat.[23]
As mentioned in the biography, Calico was the assassin sent to kill Pocket 5 years before the events of the ritual.[3]
Calico enjoys "tying up loose ends" when she kills Pocket in-game.[24] She also mentions that Maximilian Fairfax will "have questions",[25] lining up with Pocket's belief that Maximilian Fairfax was the one who sent Calico to kill Pocket.
Pocket, naturally, dislikes Calico for almost killing them.[26][27]
Calico used to work with Grey Talon in the Baxter Society.
While Grey Talon is disappointed in Calico for becoming an assassin,[28] he doesn't resent her and was content to leave her alone.[29][30][31]
Calico views Grey Talon as a "relic of a bygone era",[32] but also says she will mourn his death if she kills him in-game.[33]
Venator knew Calico from when she was in the Baxter Society, but loathes her now that she's an assassin.[34]
Venator believes that, for the right price, Calico would be willing to kill Ava.[35]
When killing Calico, Venator mentions that it was "for Grey Talon".[36] He also references the 30 pieces of silver that Judas received for betraying Jesus when killing Calico, presumably referring to Calico leaving the Baxter Society.[37]
The Doorman is familiar with Calico and likes her.[38][39] He talks with her about "professional interests in town", likely meaning that Calico told him about her job as an assassin.[40]
The Doorman loves Ava and, in the event that Calico will be unable to take care of Ava anymore, says he'll treat her "like a queen" at the Baroness Hotel.[41][42]

Removed Lore
When Calico was first added to Hero Labs on October 24, 2024, she originally had a different background:
“Granted the dubious honor of being named Time Magazine's most dangerous woman on the planet, Calico is an enigmatic occult arms dealer that is willing to fund any and all sides of a conflict if the price is right.
While her critics (and friends) would correctly identify her as being amoral, she is not without her principles... however cold and calculated those principles may be.
Calico's lore was updated when she officially officially released on January 17, 2025 to her current lore.
Neon Prime - Nano
In Neon Prime, Calico was originally a character named Nano.
