The Cheater Frog is an anti-cheat mechanic in Deadlock.
Overview
When the game's anti-cheat algorithm identifies a player as a cheater, a pop-up appears to the other players to choose between banning the player immediately or turning them into a frog before banning. The frog is unable to perform any actions besides moving. The match also becomes free to leave and the result is not counted for matchmaking.
Trivia
- The Cheater Frog was based on an unused mechanic designed for Counter Strike: Global Offensive that turned cheaters into chickens.[1]
- The Cheater Frog model is the same used in Pocket's Affliction. The frog was also originally used for Sinclair Rabbit Hex.
