* Being within a certain radius of enemy defensive structures (Guardians, Walkers, Shrines, Patron).
** This can be thought of as the enemy defensive structures having some vision in an area around them. They can "see" you, and this causes you to show up on the enemy minimap.
** The radius of this "vision" differs between the types of structures, but is shorter than each structure's respective targeting ranges.

* Being in an enemy hero's line of sight, within a certain range.
** Important note: This is specific to the HERO's line of sight, not the enemy player's line of sight.
*** A straight line drawn between the center of both heroes needs to be free of vision blockers in order to reveal the heroes on the minimap.
**** Leaning around a corner exposes only your hero's torso, and so will not reveal you on the minimap in the case that there are enemy heroes around that corner.
**** This also means that while leaning around a corner, you will NOT reveal any enemies that are around that corner.
* Being very near an enemy hero that is facing away from you.
** Even if your hero does not appear on the enemy player's screen, you will be revealed on the minimap if you are too close to them (assuming no vision blockers).
** The range of this is just less than the maximum range that a light melee will damage them.

Bebop

The Minimap is a simplified depiction of the map from above. It is used in a match to navigate the map, see the location of teammates, and to see any enemy players within the player's or players' teammates line of sight.

In spectator mode, the Minimap has The Archmother side as North and The Hidden King side as South by default.

Overview

[edit | edit source]

Reveal Duration

[edit | edit source]

When revealed on the minimap, the player remains visible for approximately 2 seconds after the revealing action ends.

Things that reveal the player to enemies on the minimap

[edit | edit source]
  • Shooting enemy Troopers.
  • Shooting at enemy defensive structures (Guardians, Walkers, Shrines, Patron).
    • This includes shooting them from an angle where the structure cannot see or shoot back. The act of shooting at the structure is what causes the player to appear on the enemy minimap, regardless of location.
  • Being targeted or shot at by enemy defensive structures.
  • Being within an enemy hero's line of sight, within approximately 50–60 meters. Note that this is based on the heroes' line of sight specifically, not the enemy player's. A straight line between the centers of both heroes must be free of vision blockers.
    • Leaning around a corner only exposes the hero's torso and does not count as line of sight, meaning neither hero will reveal the other on the minimap while one is leaning.
A visual of the maximum range that the player will reveal enemy heroes (that are in line of sight) on the minimap
  • Being very near an enemy hero (just under light melee range), even if they are facing away. The hero will be revealed even if they are not visible on screen, as long as there are no vision blockers.
  • Activating Mirage's Djinn's Mark on an enemy.

Things that will not reveal the player to enemies on the minimap

[edit | edit source]
  • Standing near enemy Troopers while they are not shooting at or targeting the player.
  • Using abilities or items on enemy Troopers or heroes.
  • Being targeted or shot at by an enemy hero from beyond approximately 50–60 meters, even if they have line of sight on the player.
  • Enemy Troopers riding a zipline near or above the player.
  • Shooting at summons such as Graves' Ghouls or Deadheads or deployables such as McGinnis' Mini Turrets.
  • Being hit by summons or deployable abilities (Though it will make the player's portrait appear in the HUD for the hero who summoned the unit).

Invisibility

[edit | edit source]

Invisibility (from Veil Walker, Shadow Weave, or Haze's Smoke Bomb) prevents revealing under the following rules:

  • Breaking invisibility requires: using abilities, shooting, or being within proximity of an enemy hero with line of sight (walls block this).
  • Exception: Haze's Smoke Bomb allows using items and abilities without breaking invisibility or revealing her on the minimap.
  • Buildings and objectives do not break invisibility or reveal the player.
  • Graves' Ghouls will chase invisible players but will not explode on them.

Hero Interactions

[edit | edit source]
  • Calico cannot be revealed on the minimap while using Ava, even if shot by troopers, guardians, or walkers.
  • Mirage's Djinn's Mark will reveal invisible enemies on the minimap when activated.

Item Interactions

[edit | edit source]
  • Stalker provides wall-hack vision of the target but does not reveal them on the minimap for the team.
