Neutrals, colloquially called Neutral Creeps, Jungle Creeps or Denizens are a type of unit that are not controlled by any player. They are aligned to neither of the teams, and offer an alternative source of Souls.
Overview
[edit | edit source]Neutrals appear in small camps scattered in the jungle on both sides of the map, each with different power levels. When killed, they grant a set amount of Souls to every player that damaged it and do not release any Soul Orbs.
Neutrals will spawn and respawn at varying times based on the size of the camp. The timer starts when the last creep is killed. The Mid-Boss, who sits in at the center of the map, is also considered to be a neutral creep.
Neutrals scale over the course of the match. Their Health increases by 2.1% per minute, while their Damage increases by 0.5% per minute. They deal Weapon Damage and attack twice per second.

Types
[edit | edit source]There are a few different types of Neutrals which spawn in small groups inside of camps within the jungle. These camps are categorized into small, medium, and large camps. Their levels are indicated by the number of lines underneath the triangle icons on the Minimap: no lines indicate a small camp, one line a medium camp, and two lines a large camp.
Currently, there is no variation on the Neutral types, as each camp has the exact same Neutral model with varying levels of power.
Small Camps
[edit | edit source]Small Neutrals are the weakest of the neutral creeps. They spawn in at 2:00 and respawn 1:25 minutes after being fully cleared. Each small camp spawns 3 small Neutrals. They give few Souls, deal low damage, and have low health, making them easy to kill for any Hero at any time of the game. These camps are indicated by a simple triangle on the Minimap.
Medium Camps
[edit | edit source]Medium Neutrals are also relatively weak camps, but stronger than the small camps. They spawn in at 5:00 and respawn 4:50 minutes after being fully cleared. They give more Souls, deal moderate damage, and have more health. There are 6 different spawn combinations of small and medium creeps between different medium camp locations. Some of them can be dealt with early on, but some may be too strong. These camps are indicated by one line underneath a triangle icon on the Minimap.
Sinner's Sacrifice camps
[edit | edit source]Some medium camps include one or two Sinner's Sacrifice machines. They are marked with the Sinner's Sacrifice icon in the minimap instead of the Neutral camp icon. Both the Neutrals and the Sinner's Sacrifice machines need to be cleared in order for the camp to respawn.
Large Camps
[edit | edit source]Large Neutrals are the strongest of the regular camps. They spawn in at 8:00 and respawn 5:35 minutes after being fully cleared. They consist of at least one strong Neutral, with a combination of small and medium Neutrals for some camps. There are also 6 camps with 3 strong Neutrals each on the map. With strong stats, they are very difficult to deal with early on. Additionally, Large Neutrals take 20% less damage from Melee attacks.[1] These camps are indicated by two thick lines underneath a triangle icon on the Minimap.
The Mid-Boss Camp
[edit | edit source]- Main article: Mid-Boss
Mid-Boss is a unique boss Neutral that spawns in the middle of the map. It spawns in at 0:00, and its first respawn occurs 7 minutes after its first death. Subsequent respawns occur after 6 minutes, then 5 minutes. It is very hard to kill by a single player, requiring at least 2-3 other players to assist early on. The Mid-Boss is a relatively easy fight mechanics-wise, but a difficult one based on stats. As it has an infinitely regenerating shield, it takes a lot of hits to deal damage to its large health pool. This camp is indicated by a yellow crest in the middle of the Minimap.
Cockroaches
[edit | edit source]
Cockroaches spawn in small groups in the tunnels inside Vents. They spawn in immediately and always give 1 soul when killed. Cockroaches will respawn 30 seconds after being killed. Unlike Neutrals, they respawn independently of one another and can roam in a small area from their spawnpoint. Cockroaches do not attack Heroes. Rem's Lil Helpers can be sent to kill cockroaches, unlike Neutrals.
Souls
[edit | edit source]See: Souls#Neutrals (Jungle Creeps)
Neutrals drop varying amounts of Souls depending on their size and the overall duration of a match. The larger the Neutral, the higher the total Soul bounty they drop. If multiple players attack a Neutral, the Souls will be split evenly between all allied players who helped kill the Neutral. All Souls dropped by Neutrals are Unsecured Souls.
The Neutral Soul bounty increase per minute is equal to 1.08% of the base Soul value. The starting value is from the start of the match, not when the Neutrals are spawned.

[edit | edit source]Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Neutrals are called Denizens in the player's damage report. However, they are always referred to as "neutrals" in patch notes, indicating that "denizen" may have been an older name that hasn't been updated in the UI.
- The Neutrals have a pumpkin model in the Halloween seasonal event, and a Snowmen model in the Winter event.
- The current Neutral model is labeled neutral_drain_creature. There is an alternate Neutral model in the game files labeled neutral_barb_plant, with the appearance of a monstrous potted plant similar to Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.
- The name "jungle camp" is a terminology inherited from older MOBAs that had neutral camps in dense forests with low visibility. Since Deadlock takes place in an urban environment, it can still be considered a "concrete jungle".

[edit | edit source]- ↑ It was noted in the December 3, 2025 update that melee damage to large neutrals was increased by 20%, but it was actually decreased. This can be verified by testing. It's unclear if this is intentional.
