“You'd think people would be more excited about a jar of souls!— Soul Urn
The Soul Urn, also known as Spirit Urn, Soul Jar or Spirit Jar, is an objective that spawns at the 10-minute mark and respawns in 5-minute intervals.
Players can pick up the urn and deliver it to its destination on the opposite side of the map. Doing so grants the delivering team Soul Orbs, a Golden statue buff, and an Ability Point for the courier, along with additional Souls.
The Soul Urn respawns on the side it was delivered to.

Carrying the soul urn
After 10 minutes, the Soul Urn spawns in one of two locations in the outermost lanes: beside the overhanging bridge at York Street (Yellow Lane) or beside the bridge at Park Avenue (Green Lane). The urn always spawns first on Yellow Lane at 10 minutes and alternates lanes every 5 minutes. It descends from the sky for 12.5 seconds before it can be picked up. A player can grab the landed urn by standing near it for 2 seconds.
While carrying the urn, the courier is affected in several ways:
- Their Move Speed is set to a fixed 15 m/s and they have 100% Slow Resistance.
- They are disarmed and silenced.
- They are revealed to the enemy team on the Minimap.
- They cannot use Ziplines or Teleporters.
The courier can drop the urn at any time by pressing their parry key. A heavy melee attack or any stun from an enemy will also force the courier to drop it. If an urn is left on the ground for too long, it will walk back to its spawn point.

The drop-off point is on the opposite side of the map, marked by a small green box on the Minimap (or red, when the enemy is carrying it). If a team is behind by a certain soul threshold (15% for the first urn, 10% after), the drop-off point moves closer to their side. This "favored" status is indicated by four floating green candles around the urn. For the leading team, these candles are red.
It takes 2 seconds to turn in the urn. If the delivery takes longer than 90 seconds, the urn begins to damage its courier for 1% of their max health per second and disables their Health Regen. This timer pauses if the urn is dropped and resets if the enemy team picks it up.
Soul urn reward
The Soul Urn's base soul bounty is 700 Souls and increases by 230 Souls per minute of game time.
- First Urn (10 mins): 3,000 Souls
- Second Urn (15 mins): 4,150 Souls
- Third Urn (20 mins): 5,300 Souls
When a team successfully turns in the Soul Urn, the rewards are distributed as follows:
- A random Golden Statue buff is granted to each member of the capturing team.
- 50% of the total Soul value is immediately and equally distributed among all 6 members of the capturing team.
- The remaining 50% of the total Soul value is spawned as contestable Soul Orbs, which can be claimed by either team.
- The courier (the player who turns in the urn) is also awarded one Ability Point.
Courier's bonus
The courier receives a personal bonus equal to 25% of their share of the urn's total value. This bonus is calculated from the full bounty (before the 50/50 split) and is awarded instantly, meaning it cannot be denied by the enemy team.
The comeback mechanic
If the capturing team's total soul count is behind the enemy's by 10% or more (15% for the first urn), a comeback bounty of 130 extra Souls is added to the total reward before distribution.
- This entire comeback bonus is awarded instantly to the team and is not split into contestable Soul Orbs. This mechanic makes the Soul Urn a critical, high-value objective for a team that is behind.
Example distribution (3,000 Soul Urn, no comeback)
- Total Instant Souls: 1,500 (50% of 3,000)
- Total Souls in Orbs: 1,500 (50% of 3,000)
- Each Teammate (5 players) receives:
- 250 Souls instantly (1,500 / 6 players)
- The Courier receives:
- 250 Souls instantly (their team share)
- + 125 Souls instantly (personal bonus calculated as [3,000 / 6] * 0.25)
- + 1 Ability Point
- Total for Courier: 375 Souls + 1 Ability Point

Lore
Trapper builds Soul Urns for the New York Municipal Coven.[1]
The Urn is sentient and says its job is to keep New York clean by capturing rogue spirits, which should then be released in another location.
The Urn nags heroes to be delivered quickly and believes its work is underappreciated.
Trivia
- It is currently possible to activate the Magic Carpet or use Ivy's Air Drop before being silenced in a very short timing window, allowing the courier to carry the urn while under the effect of the item/ability.
- In Neon Prime, the Urn was called the Idol.
