taking barrier damage doesn't block the tunnel entrance, I believe there's another exception for damaging a far away target (via something like spirit burn or alchemical fire)

Tunnels are a network of shortcut passages in the map connecting different locations. Some tunnels are only accessible by vents, which only certain heroes can enter.

Overview

[edit | edit source]

Tunnel vents are only accessible by specific characters, and they cannot enter while in combat (taking or dealing damage within a 4s buffer time, although taking barrier damage doesn't count) or while carrying the Soul UrnSoul Urn.

The vent entrances have a grill as a visual indicator to players within 10 metres if these are inaccessible at the given moment.

The following heroes can access vents:

Grey Talon's Guided Owl can also enter vents, if the player manages to enter at the correct angle without hitting any walls. It can also enter and exit the tunnels through the gap over the fence in the subway room next to Mid-Boss.

The Street Brawl item Shrink Ray allows any hero to enter vents. However, this has limited usability since Street Brawl takes place in one lane.

While in the tunnels, characters gain a 70% boost to their Move Speed. Sprint speed is not multiplied by the tunnel boost.

If a hero requires an ability to enter vents and the ability duration runs out inside a vent or tunnel too small to walk/crouch on, the effect is different depending on the hero:

  • For Calico, she can activate the transformation and be pushed to the nearest walkable area. If she doesn't transform, she will stay as Ava and start rapidly taking damage, and transform back when she exits the space.
  • For Mo & Krill, they will instantly exit Burrow in one of the nearest walkable spaces either inside or outside the tunnels. {Whether they are pushed to the inside or outside seems to be inconsistent.}

Crates can be found inside tunnels, and cockroaches that can be killed for Souls1.

Known Bugs

[edit | edit source]
  • A player without vent-accessing abilities may accidentally get stuck in the tunnels by glitching through geometry. In this case, they can use the "Unstick" button in the main menu. (Note: To avoid exploits, this cannot be used by heroes who can exit the tunnels by themselves.)

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Due to the size of the tunnels, crates found inside them are smaller than normal crates.
