Bookworm was one of the heroes in a private build who was accidently leaked on stream in May 2025.^[1]
Bookworm makes self-aware jokes about having a temp voice actor, including a voice line saying she's "not voiced by Matt Mercer".^[2] This is a joke by developer Kaori in reference to Deadlock fans guessing that a number of characters are voiced by Matt Mercer, most notably Krill, Oathkeeper, and the job interviewer in Ivy's visual novel. Of those characters, only Krill has been confirmed to not be voiced by Matt Mercer, while the others are uncertain.
Bookworm references the Shopkeeper, who provided temp VO for Priest, calling him "the bodega guy".^[3]
