- Bolt redirect will aim accurately at enemies behind walls, provided the ability is re-casted whilst the cursor is hovering over where the target is. Targets seem to have a larger than normal vertical aim-assist zone and this can be the reason for bolts going in weird directions on redirect.

Sinclair are Heroes in Deadlock. With their trusty magic wand, they can shoot unpredictable Bolts to surprise enemies and use magic to turn them into Rabbits. The Spectral Assistant amplifies their damage and can serve as a fast escape route. Sinclair can even turn their enemies' abilities against themselves with their surprising final trick, Audience Participation.
Sinclair was added to Hero Labs (as Magician) on October 24, 2024, and officially released on January 17, 2025 (as THE MAGNIFICENT SINCLAIR).
Weapon
Abilities
Vexing Bolt
Debuff duration reduced by Debuff ResistEffect can be dispelledCasting does not break stealth from Veil Walker or Shadow Weave
Spectral Assistant
Casting does not break stealth from Veil Walker or Shadow WeaveDisabled by Slowing Hex
- Spectral Assistant's teleport can be activated twice. The second teleport brings Sinclair to the location of the Assistant after the first teleport. There is a 2s cooldown after using the first teleport.
- The assistant cannot be cast or activated inside The Doorman's Hotel Guest.
Rabbit Hex
Debuff duration reduced by Debuff ResistTriggers Reactive BarrierDisable prevented by IndomitableCC effect suppressed by Unstoppable
- If a hero is hexed during a heavy punch animation or a channeled ability, the action is not interrupted.
Audience Participation
Audience Participation
Copy the Ultimate of an enemy hero for a limited time. Reactivating the ability will use the Copied Ultimate instead.
Copies will inherit this ability's upgrade points.
Audience Participation will also copy the cooldown.
Copies will inherit this ability's upgrade points.
Audience Participation will also copy the cooldown.
- The "Upgrade" effect determines what Tier level the copied ultimate will be. (The ultimate that is copied will be restricted to however many upgrade Tiers Sinclair has unlocked.)
- Sinclair has a 1s delay to use the target ultimate after copying.
- Sinclair can use Audience Participation even if the target enemy hasn't unlocked their ultimate yet.
- If Spectral Assistant is active, Sinclair can use the teleport ability while copying an ultimate, besides the following exceptions:
- Dynamo's Singularity
- Haze's Bullet Dance
- McGinnis' Heavy Barrage
- Mo & Krill's Combo
- Rem's Naptime
- Seven's Storm Cloud
- Warden's Last Stand (while channeling)
- If Sinclair copies an ultimate but does not use it, Audience Participation uses its default cooldown of 85s (with the exception of Vindicta's Assassinate).
- Imbuing Compress Cooldown on Audience Participation does not reduce the copied cooldown, only the default cooldown. However, other sources of cooldown reduction do reduce the copied cooldown.
- Sinclair only copies the properties of the ultimate, which can make it weaker compared to the original hero. For example, when copying Haze's Bullet Dance, they will deal less damage due to their lower fire rate and lack of the Fixation passive ability.
- Sinclair gets permanent bonus health from kills or assists with Mo & Krill's Combo, permanent bonus spirit power from kills with Grey Talon's Guided Owl, and Bonus Weapon Damage from kills with Vindicta's Assassinate.
- Audience Participation has instant cooldown if Sinclair kills an enemy with Shiv's Killing Blow T3.
- If Sinclair copies Vindicta's Assassinate, they start with one less charge.
- Sinclair gets Shiv's Rage passive if they copy Killing Blow, dealing bonus damage when at full Rage. The Rage lasts until Sinclair either loses Killing Blow or Rage goes down to zero. However, if Sinclair copies Killing Blow again, they will still have the remaining built-up Rage from the last copy, allowing them to reach full Rage faster.
- If Sinclair copies Silver's Lycan Curse, they can transform instantly with no build-up. However, likely due to a bug, Sinclair will not gain the upgrades for two specific Silver (Transformed) abilities if their base counterparts are currently deployed: a deployed Vexing Bolt results in an un-upgraded Go For The Throat, and a deployed Spectral Assistant results in an un-upgraded Mauling Leap.
Backstory
See Sinclair/Lore for more story content.
“Henry's parents told him he was too young and impulsive to mess with real magic, and so they gave him a deck of cards to play with. He took to sleight of hand naturally and soon was dazzling his classmates with fantastic feats of illusions that were done without mystic artifacts or incantation.
When he was in high school he met Savannah, and their mutual love of stage magic sparked a whirlwind romance. Soon they fell in love and created an act together. Obviously they were meant to be; and so at prom, Henry proposed to Savannah and they married soon after graduation.
Unsurprisingly both sets of parents were not thrilled at this prospect, but Henry and Savannah knew they were soulmates. And so they cemented their love for one another by having a blood mystic bind their souls for eternity.
When an on-stage accident claimed both their lives, no one was sure who to blame. Henry claims Savannah was out of position. Savannah says Henry didn't wait for his cue. But one thing's for sure, since their souls are tied to each other neither one of them have been able to move on. Now a bickering pair of ghosts, Henry and Savannah need to work together if they want to have any chance of undoing their eternal union.

Trivia
- Sinclair changes voices on death, depending on which ghost is controlling the body. It starts as Henry's voice, then changes to Savannah's when Henry dies and vice-versa.
- Sinclair's weapon name The Prestige is a possible reference to the Christopher Priest's novel of the same name (which was adapted to movie by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan in 2006).
- The weapon was previously named Legerdemain and Magic Wand.
- Sinclair's current design is based on one of the scrapped designs for Wraith. It is also used in a Metal Skin advert.
- Sinclair's lead developer is Hopoo,[3] best known as the co-creator of the Risk of Rain series.
- The Spectral Assistant currently uses a modified version of Lady Geist's original model prior to the Six Heroes update.
- Sinclair's bunny uses the same model as Arnabus the Fairy Rabbit from Dota 2.
- Savannah's voice actor, Andia Winslow, also plays the role of Allie Kinkaid in Holliday's visual novel.
- "Working Magic in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Sinclair in the Hideout.
- When copying Yamato's Shadow Transformation, the description shows "Become infused with Sinclair's shadow soul." instead of 'Become infused with Yamato's shadow soul."
- If a hero has a voice line warning against a specific enemy ultimate, that voice line is triggered if the enemy Sinclair copies and uses that ultimate.
