Lore

Venator is a monster hunter^[1] and vampire hunter^[2] for the Vatican.^[3] He is referred to as the Sword of Saint Benedict.^[4] There have been multiple Venators.^[5] According to a Doorman ultimate voiceline, and a Mina kill line, his real name is Cain Roark.

May 22, 2026	Health increased from 790+43/boon to 830+48/boon. Hex-Lined Snap Trap T3 increased from +25% Damage Against Revealed Targets to +30%. Hex-Lined Snap Trap T3 now also grants +1 Charge.

Trivia

Venator's weapon is named after the Bible passage Jeremiah 51:20: "You are my war club, my weapon for battle - with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms".
Venator was one of the heroes in a private build who was accidently leaked on stream in May 2025.^[6]
Venator has the Shopkeeper voice actor as a temp VO, who makes self-aware jokes about his role.
Bookworm references Priest's voice actor, calling him "the bodega guy".^[7]
Venator makes a reference to Valve's FX artists Andrew Kim and Irving Zhang.^[8]^[9]
