“Snipes the unsuspectingVindicta has the mobility to engage at her leisure, picking at her prey and bleeding them out slowly. Injured enemies at any distance should fear being picked off when she is on the map.
Vindicta is a Hero in Deadlock. She is a mobile and powerful marksman, engaging and picking off her targets from a distance. Using her Crow Familiar to initiate fights by bleeding her targets, Vindicta may launch into Flight to keep her distance from enemies and tether them with a Stake in the ground while targeting them with her powerful rifle. Enemies that are near-death should fear her ability to Assassinate at long-range with a devastating sniper shot.
A witch who was killed by John Hathorne during the Salem Witch Trials of the 1600s, Vindicta returned to this world during the first Maelstrom. Seeking to protect her fellow supernatural entities, Vindicta is waging a war against the Neo-inquisitorial "Friends of Humanity".

This means that it will increase her ammo capacity by the same amount every time and will not affect other sources of Ammo increase such as Titanic Magazine.

— A FATE'S TALE
Lore[edit | edit source]
Vindicta says she was a child who was "unjustly condemned" during the Salem Witch Trials.[1] This relates to the actual Salem Witch Trials as many of the girls were young, ranging from ages 9 to 20.[2] John Hathorne, who's mentioned in Vindicta's background, was known in the actual Salem Witch Trials for questioning accusers and the accused in trial, often leaving the accused guilty.
Vindicta says she's not a witch because she isn't alive and her only goal is revenge.[3] Her main target is the current leader of the Friends of Humanity, also named John Hathorne, who is a descendant of the original Hathorne who killed her.[4][5]
Character interactions[edit | edit source]
- Vindicta is referred to as Goody Proctor by Krill.[6]
- Haze warns Vindicta to "quit while she's ahead", because murdering John Hathorne will "galvanize" the Friends of Humanity.[7]
- Grey Talon regards Vindicta as a friend,[8][9] as he believes the Friends of Humanity are behind the murder of his family.[10][11]
- Warden is sympathetic to Vindicta's cause.[12]

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Vindicta during Deadlock Pre-Alpha (Neon Prime) was named Hornet.
- Vindicta will occasionally hum the song Simple Gifts after getting a kill with her ultimate.[13] This is a song that originated from the Shaker religion in the early 1800s.
- Vindicta and McGinnis are currently tied for the lowest base Stamina of any hero at 2.
- Vindicta's portrait has longer hair than her in-game model.
