Inferno
Infernus is a Hero in Deadlock. He is an Ixian with a powerful control of flame that he uses to enhance his speed and ignite his enemies. Combining his Flame Dash with the ability to spew a Napalm catalyst, Infernus can chase down and ignite his foes with a deadly Afterburn. Any targets left standing will be subject to his explosive Concussive Combustion, knocking them out and leaving them vulnerable to further immolation.
As a creature from Ixia, Infernus had a troubled and intense youth while he was raised in the United States. Despite a rash of deadly crime as a teenager, he found himself tending a bar in his adulthood and learning to calm his intense emotions. With quality music and interesting people to talk to, Infernus rarely has a need these days to call up his dangerous supernatural abilities.

Notes
Duration is refreshed by 0.5s for body shots and 1s for headshots.
Afterburn's buildup is affected by distance falloff. For example: if you are at a distance where you would do 50% damage due to distance falloff, a body shot will build up half as much afterburn as normal.
Afterburn ticks every half-second, for half its DPS each tick.

Like most teenagers; Infernus was wild, rebellious, and impetuous. Unlike most teenagers, Infernus was a creature from another plane and had a supernatural mastery over fire. Needless to say: his youth was filled with no small amount of arson, murder, and evidence disposal. But that was then. Now an adult, Infernus has mellowed out considerably. He’s happy working at a bar with good live music, and talking to interesting people. That being said when someone at the bar gets belligerent or violent, he’s not afraid to dust off the skills he once honed.
Lore
Infernus' motivation in the ritual is to prevent Jezebel's Billiards Hall, the bar he tends to, from closing down.[3][4] The bar is under threat of closure due to a variety of code violations caught by the Alchemy Bureau.[5][6] Infernus mainly wants to save the bar for the sake of his friend/boss Hank, the owner of Jezebel's, because Hank "saved his life".[7][8] Hank doesn't know that Infernus is participating in the ritual.[9]
As a second generation Ixian immigrant,[10] Infernus was born and raised in New York and has never visited Ixia.[11] He considers New York his home and doesn't follow news about Ixia or the Ixian war.[12] Infernus doesn't know how to speak Ixian because his parents only ever spoke English around him.[13]
Infernus used to work for the Mendoza Syndicate before he got replaced by Vyper.[14] It's implied that he killed people at "Pier 31" during his youth.[15] When he was roughly 18 years old, he "needed help, and someone gave it to him",[16] likely referring to Hank saving his life and allowing him to leave his life of crime behind.[8] Infernus is haunted by his past and worries that he'll enjoy the thrills of the ritual and potentially fall back into a life of crime.[17][18][19]
Infernus claims to make the best sidecar in Manhattan.[20]
Infernus seems to know Ms. Shelly, even though they've never met before.[22][23]
Infernus invites Holliday for a "date" at Jezebel's.[24]
Infernus once kicked Mina out of his bar for using a fake ID on her 16th birthday.[25] She attempted to bribe him with money, to which he declined.[26]
Wraith and Infernus have worked together in the past.[49] Wraith believes Infernus' work as a bartender is "boring". She believes Infernus misses her, but he denies it.[50] While on the same team, Wraith tries to coax Infernus back into his criminal past.[51][52]
Infernus plays in Wraith's weekly poker game.[53] However, he tells Mo & Krill that he wants to stay away from her.[19]
According to Graves, Wraith told Blackmore Academy students that play cards with her about Infernus' criminal past "with the mob".[54]
Apollo is shocked that Infernus doesn't speak Ixian nor care for Ixian culture.[55][13]
Seven, Vyper and Wraith tease Infernus for leaving his criminal life behind and becoming a bartender.[56][57][50]
Grey Talon is remorseful when fighting Infernus, due to his feelings towards Ixians.[58][59]
Infernus has the Hero ID 1, indicating that he was the first hero created for Neon Prime. He is also the default hero in tutorial videos and test maps.
Haze originally had kill lines against Infernus, implying that her intervention is why Infernus was able to walk free after his criminal youth.[61][62] These lines were removed in the Six New Heroes Update.
"Mixing Drinks in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Infernus in the Hideout.
