Electrocutes crowds of enemies

Seven thrives in a skirmish waiting for the time to strike. Then he rolls into the fight like a storm and batters his enemies with a cascade of lightning.

Seven is Hero in Deadlock. He is a powerful and brutal mystic with control over electricity and lightnings. Starting engagements by stunning a foe with Static Charge, Seven activates a chain lightning Power Surge on his burst-fire rifle and unleashes a Lightning Ball to shock down his opponent quickly. Channeling the spirit of the storm, Seven can begin or end encounters by unleashing his Storm Cloud to electrocute all enemies within range that are not quick enough to escape.

It is not stated what actions lead to Seven being sent prisoner to Lost Whisper, yet at the day of his execution Seven managed to escape, obliterating everyone who kept him in captivity for years in the process. Finally free, Seven's singular goal is to participate in the ritual and reach apotheosis. And he will not stop before anything, or anyone who would stand in the way.

Storm Cloud secondary ability delay reduced from 2s to 0.25s

December 6, 2024

  • Storm Cloud now grants you a secondary ability Lightning Strike. It is a one time use AoE ability. You can target anywhere in your ultimate range, after a 2s delay it releases a vertical lightning strike onto a 6m area, knocking enemies away from that radius (6m knockback) and dealing 150 Damage (1.5 spirit scaling). There is a visual indicator for enemies that that area is about to be hit.
  • Storm Cloud DPS reduced from 125 to 110
  • Storm Cloud T3 now also allows you to float around at 2.5m/s speed

November 21, 2024

  • Storm Cloud now causes you to levitate up and down a little bit in a cycle rather than being fully stationary
  • Storm Cloud expand time reduced from 2s to 1.5s

Background[edit | edit source]

When mystic energy awoke on Earth, the world changed… anything was possible. But just because anything WAS possible, didn't mean that anything SHOULD be possible. And so the government made rules. Laws. A means for US citizens to enjoy the benefits of the supernatural world in safety. But rules and laws are for lesser men. Men with limitations. Men who were not Seven.

There are many rumors about what Seven did to land himself in Lost Whisper, an oubliette for the most dangerous of occultists. But there is no doubt about what happened on the night of his execution.

Wards placed by the most powerful ritualists of 7 different nations... wards designed to not just prevent mystical interference with the execution, but to simultaneously obliterate Seven's soul so that it could never be contacted, resurrected, or otherwise be used by someone looking to follow in his footsteps... failed.

Onlookers viewed in horror as the strongest mentalist employed by the US Army’s head popped like a grape. They screamed as Scotland Yard’s premiere occult investigator, the one who allegedly captured Seven, crumbled to ash. Seven’s body buckled and writhed against his restraints; his skin burning from eldritch electricity... and yet he would not die. He laughed.

He laughed as he tore himself free from his bondage.

He laughed as his captors cowered in fear.

He laughed as he massacred his tormentors.

He laughed as he tasted the fresh air that was denied to him for years.

And he laughed when he thought about what he was going to do once he reached New York City.

A FATE'S TALE

Lore[edit | edit source]

Seven claims he was imprisoned in Lost Whisper because he "offended small-minded simpletons with fragile egos". He says he "doesn't like" murder, but rather is "indifferent" to it.[1]

Seven has done research on the Astral Gates, and he credits Professor Dynamo as an influence in his work.[2]

Seven's goal of "apotheosis"[3] means the glorification of a subject to divine level,[4] implying that Seven wants to become a god, or gain godlike powers.

On the run from the OSIC, Seven currently lives in New York's old subway tunnels. He tells Mo & Krill he has "particular needs" regarding the creation of new tunnels.[1]

The New York Oracle reporter Allie Kincaid is writing a story on Seven.[5][6]

Character interactions[edit | edit source]

  • Seven has a one-sided rivalry with Kelvin for unknown reasons.[7][8] Kelvin thinks Seven "seems familiar".[9] Additionally, both Seven and Kelvin have an interest on researching Astral Gates.[2][10] When being healed by Kelvin, Seven is reminded of "old times".[11]
    • A likely possibility is that Seven is Kelvin's old friend Edrick, who "vanished".[12] This is supported by one of Seven's lines to Kelvin that mirrors one of Kelvin's lines about Edrick.[13][14]
  • Seven believes Kelvin has a bigger ego than Lash.[15]
  • Seven has a strong conviction that exceptional magic users should use their powers, regardless of how others might judge them for it. He criticizes Dynamo for wanting to "throw away" the "great gift" of his star body, teases Infernus for "putting on a muzzle" and "wasting" his powers, and says McGinnis is "wasting her brilliance" working for Fairfax Industries. He respects Ivy for "seeing the world as it was and deciding it was not acceptable to her".[1]
  • Paradox threatens to reveal the location of Seven's safehouse.[1]
  • Seven wants to commission Paradox for a job.[1]
  • When on the same team, Seven teases Haze for working alongside him and asks how soon will they start fighting each other once the ritual is over.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Seven during Deadlock Pre-Alpha (Neon Prime) was named Gigawatt.
  • Seven and Grey Talon are currently the only heroes whose Move Speed is directly affected by Spirit Power.
  • Seven is the only character who parries with his back.
  • Seven's clothes has numbers that form a Gorowase, a form of Japanese wordplay with numbers. 4279 can be read as Shi (4) Ni (2) Na (7) Ku (9) = Shininaku (死になく), or "Become unkillable" (rough translation).
  • Seven's name may be a reference to Numerology, in which the number 7 is associated with spirituality and the search for knowledge.[16]
