Haze is a Hero in Deadlock. She works as a secret agent in the Sandman Division of OSIC, fighting as a devastating assassin character with a specialty in isolating and eliminating her foes. Her Smoke Bomb lets her sneak up on enemies before knocking them out with a Sleep Dagger and unleashing a hail of gunfire at close range. In desperate situations, Haze can enter her Bullet Dance to avoid return fire while dispatching her remaining targets.
In her position at the Occult Security and Investigation Commission, Haze is regularly tasked with infiltrating the dreams of "Persons of Interest" to determine the threat they pose to the United States. If needed, she will be called upon to terminate those targets that are deemed too dangerous to be left alive.

Background
See Haze/Lore for more story content.
“The Occult Security and Investigation Commission is a black box government organization that makes the CIA look transparent. It falls on the men, women, and entities of the OSIC to keep the country safe from sinister forces that are beyond the capabilities of local law enforcement.
As a member of the notorious Sandman Division, Haze is routinely tasked with infiltrating the dreams of persons of interest, to assess their threat level, and if needed... to put them to sleep.
Lore
Haze is fighting in the ritual on behalf of the OSIC.[1][2] Her wish is unknown, although the Patrons tempt her to wish herself a new life.[3][4][5] She has prepared extensively for the ritual by performing drills, research, stretching, divination, and fortune telling.[6]
Haze works for the OSIC because she "loves her country".[7] She acknowledges that the OSIC is flawed, but in her eyes the ends justify the means.[8] She is extremely loyal to her superiors and her job,[9][10][11] although it's implied that she doesn't love being a Sandman.[12][13]
Haze is nicknamed "Dreamwalker" and "Dreamstalker".[14]
Haze appreciates quality knifework.[15]
Haze plays the cello for fun.[16]
Character interactions
- Most characters dislike fighting Haze, since nobody wants to piss off the OSIC.[14]
- Haze and
Rem are friends.[17][18][19] Haze promised to help Rem get home and dislikes him fighting in the ritual due to the dangers.[20][21]
- Haze and Grey Talon know each other. She refers to him by his first name and sent a card when his son died.[26] They haven't seen each other for "a while".[27]
- Haze takes
Viscous and his problems seriously.[28] She wants to know more about The Adversary in case more creatures like it come through The Deep's astral gate.[29] - Haze suggests a position at the OSIC to Abrams,[30]
Graves,[31]
Victor[32] and
Vindicta.[33] - Haze is worried about
Apollo participating in the ritual since him dying would cause an international incident.[34][35] - Haze appreciates what
Ivy did for New York.[36] She doesn't think Ivy would be a good OSIC agent, however, due to Ivy's big heart.[37] - Haze tells Dynamo that OSIC agent Marlowe has an offer for Dynamo to join them. Dynamo mistakes Marlowe for his wife, Marla.[38]
- Haze has been ordered to assassinate
Calico and
Seven.[39][40] She's also keeping an eye on
The Doorman,[41]
Lady Geist,[42]
Wraith[43] and
Yamato,[44] but hasn't been told to kill them since they aren't considered national threats yet. The OSIC aren't aware of
Vyper and Haze views her as "beneath her paygrade".[45][46] - Haze and
Mirage respect each other's discipline.[47][48] - Haze views
Wraith as "a worthy target".[49] - When on the same team, Seven teases Haze for working alongside him and asks how soon will they start fighting each other once the ritual is over.[50][51]

Trivia
- Haze has a model in the files named "Haze_v2," which includes blue skin and a red beret. Its textures refer to her as "fr_haze".
- Haze's voice actress is currently unknown. Developer Kaori said that she is voiced by a prolific performer,[52] and debunked popular fan guesses of Eve Lindley[53] and Meli Grant.[54]
- Neon Prime "Haze v1" was first leaked within Dota 2 files in October 29th 2020 update. The png is named "clothchain_extrude_twist"
- Haze originally had kill lines implying that she helped Infernus walk free after his criminal youth.[55][56] These lines were removed in the Six New Heroes Update.
- The artwork previously used as the game's Steam cover and loading screen showed a slightly older version of Haze wearing a yellow jacket instead of orange.
- "Sleep Walking in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Haze in the Hideout.
