However, instead of a traditional nautical sailor, he more likely was an aeronaut, a sailor of the skies. Air travel is commonly done by airships that use zephyrs, or wind spirits, for air travel.[5] On Lash’s left arm, he adorns a ship’s anchor tattoo surrounded by a cloud-like emblem, or possibly a zephyr.[6] Additionally, Lash’s aptitude of air mobility and the ship’s horn sound on his ultimate ability “Death Slam” further imply an aeronaut background. Mo & Krill call Lash a “stevedore”,[7] a worker that unloads cargo from ships, suggesting that Lash could be a dockworker or a ship rigger that helps in the smuggling business.
These story elements are considered non-canon in the current Deadlock universe. See also: Neon Prime lore
In Neon Prime, an earlier development version of Deadlock, Lash owned a dojo. He taunted Kali, a former Bear Pit competitor, for coming out of retirement only to go back to a 2 decade hiatus after losing to Bebop.[8] Lash also used to date the character Ballista, and wanted to get them back after a break-up.
