By throwing out Fire Scarabs and transforming into a Dust Devil, Mirage can damage, lift up, steal life and elude his targets while applying Djinn's Mark to enemies to enhance his attacks. When the time is right, he can Travel across the map in an instant to assist his allies, hunt down weak foes and take care of objectives.

An emissary of the Djinn ambassador Nashala Dion, Mirage is a diplomatic bodyguard who is charged with carrying and protecting the djinn's vessel.

Mirage was added to the roster on September 26, 2024.

Backstory

See Mirage/Lore for more story content.

The Djinn are one of the more curious groups of people in the modern world. Possessing great power in controlled doses, Djinn are incapable of maintaining corporeal form for longer than 48 minutes without resting within a vessel. As a result, most Djinn employ human bodyguards for transport, protection, and companionship.

Mirage is one such bodyguard. Employed by Djinn ambassador Nashala Dion, Mirage is in New York on a diplomatic mission. It's the hope of the Djinn that they can negotiate with the US government for a sale of part of Wyoming so that they can build a sovereign nation for their people.

Trivia

  • Mirage became known in the player community for his screaming voice lines at release (the frequency of which was later reduced according to patch notes),[2] as well as his unused "Akira laser" screams. This has been acknowledged by developer Kaori, who joked that Mirage's voice actor Fareed Ward could be easily identified by his screams,[3] and referenced in voice lines by Mina, Silver and Vyper.[4][5][6]
  • Nashala has an unused human-sized model in the game files.
  • Mirage's model was updated in the 2024-12-06 Update.
  • Mirage carries Nashala in the bottle in his hand. In his previous model, it used to be attached to his chest.
  • Mirage's first official model wasn't shipped in the game files until he was officially released. However, the model was leaked a couple weeks earlier by an updated portrait art.
  • Mirage's pre-release model was based on Paradox's model with a modified McGinnis head.
  • "Dreaming of Wyoming in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Mirage in the Hideout.
