* Card Trick generates a random card out of an 8-card stack (2 of each suit, not counting jokers). Once the stack is depleted, it generates a new one. Additionally, it has an 11% (1/9) chance to generate Jokers, increased to 20% (1/5) chance at T3. Joker generation does not count for the 8-card stack.
* Hitting multiple units with the same Heart suit card will provide 50% healing for each additional unit hit (i.e. if a card heals for 100hp and hits two heroes, that card will heal Wraith for 150hp).

=== Card Generation ===
<!--For fresh data see [[Deadlock:Street Brawl Ability Changes]] -->
For Wraith's '''Card Trick''' ability, cards are generated by dealing weapon damage, instead of recharging over time. The amount of charge gained is dependent on the attack landing on enemies, but the amount of damage dealt does ''not'' affect the amount of charge gained. Cooldown reduction increases the percentage generated proportionally (EX: 10% Cooldown Reduction = 10% increase to charge gain percentage)
Apart from [[Street Brawl#Heroes|global changes]], Wraith does '''not''' have any special modifications for her abilities in Street Brawl.

=== Item Draft ===
NOTE: Wraith's card generation rate starts at {{#invoke:Abilities|get_ability_prop|Card Trick|CardResourceGenPctScale}}% <ref> .json value: "CardResourceGenPctScale" from game files </ref>

If something's stationary, it won't last long.

Wraith is a Hero in Deadlock. She is a fast-talking and fast-firing combatant with potent offensive abilities and mobility. She can activate her Full Auto to boost her own fire rate, perform Card Tricks by sending them at her targets and Project Mind to teleport either into or out of dangerous fights. Singling out a foe with her Telekinesis and throwing them into any direction, Wraith can decide who on the enemy team should die first.

Employing her charisma and strength to run a gambling network, Wraith is a widely-known feature of the criminal underworld of New York City.

  • Cards are generated by dealing Weapon Damage and Melee Damage, instead of recharging over time. The amount of charge gained is dependent on the attack landing on enemies, but the amount of damage dealt does not affect the amount of charge gained. This is affected by cooldown reduction.
  • Card generation rate:
    • Bodyshot: 3.4%
    • Headshot: 5.1%
    • Light melee: 8.5%
    • Heavy melee: 21.25%
    • Damage to NPCs is 35% effective.
  • Card Trick generates a random card out of an 8-card stack (2 of each suit, not counting jokers). Once the stack is depleted, it generates a new one. Additionally, it has an 11% (1/9) chance to generate Jokers, increased to 20% (1/5) chance at T3. Joker generation does not count for the 8-card stack.
  • Hitting multiple units with the same Heart suit card will provide 50% healing for each additional unit hit (i.e. if a card heals for 100hp and hits two heroes, that card will heal Wraith for 150hp).
  • Hitting non-hero units with the Heart suit card provides 50% less healing.

Ability Cooldown Reduction
  • Card generation is affected by appropriately increasing how much charge every hit gives. Due to the mechanism cooldown reduction is less effective, e.g. Transcendent Cooldown's 25% reduction results in only 20% increase to card generation speed (30 => 24 shots for a charge).
  • 0.6s cooldown is not affected by either Cooldown Reduction (e.g. Superior Cooldown) or charge cooldown reduction ( Rapid Recharge)

Backstory

[edit | edit source]

See Wraith/Lore for more story content.

The cornerstone of the New York gambling scene, Wraith's organization is about as open a secret as it comes. However, thanks to a non-trivial amount of bribes, shakedowns, and blackmail, Wraith knows that she's above the law.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Wraith's hands are always inside her pockets, as her two magic arms perform actions for her.
    • Wraith's current character model doesn't actually have hands. However, there is a work-in-progress Wraith model in the files that has fully modeled arms and hands, as well as new animations performed with both her real arms and magic arms.
  • Wraith has had 4 iterations of different designs and voice actors since her creation.[1] One of her earlier designs was a magician. That model was reused for the Metal Skin poster and for Sinclair's character model.
  • Wraith's weapon was originally called Houdini's Shackles, referencing famous American illusionist and escapist Harry Houdini.
  • Wraith's weapon is based on the Thompson submachine gun (AKA "Tommy Gun"), notable for its usage by organized crime syndicates in the early 20th century.
  • Wraith's ammo clip size is 52 as a reference to the number of cards in a poker deck. Her original clip size was 50. It was changed based on a player's suggestion in the official Deadlock Discord.[2]
  • Removed Patron voice lines indicate that Wraith's previous backstory involved a search for her father, who had suffered a mysterious fate.[3][4]
  • "Gambling in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Wraith in the Hideout.
