Celeste is a Hero in Deadlock. It's not every day that Coney Island's biggest star, The Dazzling Celeste, performs on the streets of Manhattan. Her show begins with Light Eater, where a deep breath lit by her blazing baton coats enemies in front of her, and grants increased damage against them. Following that up, she envelops herself in the prismatic shield of her Dazzling Trick, which explodes and silences nearby enemies who break it. Try not to get distracted by her gliding gracefully through the air, or by the dance of her Radiant Daggers, as you'll regret being underneath them when they rain down from above. As for her memorable final act, the Shining Wonder will make her allies go OOH and her foes go AGGHHH!
A popular attraction at Coney Island, "The dazzling Celeste" isn't a carnie with a horn glued to her head: she's actually a unicorn. As unicorns are nothing more than a myth in the eyes of the public, Celeste hides her true identity out of fear of getting poached for her horn. However, when one of her found family members on the sideshow loses part of their soul in a gambling debt, Celeste is prepared to risk revealing her identity if it means helping her family.
Celeste was released on February 9, 2026 as the fifth winner of the Old Gods, New Blood update contest.
Innate
[edit | edit source]Celeste has a passive that alters her aerial movement:
- -25% Gravity Scale
- +44% Air Control
- +10% Air Acceleration
Weapon
[edit | edit source]Carny Life's projectile flies in an arc and bounces on the first surface it hits. If there's an enemy in range at a narrow angle (~45º spread) from the shot, the projectile homes into them / flies in their direction. It will also home into soul orbs.
If shot directly at an enemy, the projectile can ricochet to a second enemy at close distance and aligned at a narrow angle. The ricocheted shot can headshot the second enemy, if shot at a high enough angle to hit their head, and it will trigger headshot item effects.
Split Shot generates 3 multishots at 70° spread.
Abilities
[edit | edit source]Light Eater
Dazzling Trick
Dazzling Trick
Radiant Daggers
Radiant Daggers
Celeste will receive a stacking buff that increases her spirit damage anytime this hits an enemy hero.
- Radiant Daggers' vertical range reaches the top and bottom of the skybox. If cast on, or inside of a building, it will hit enemy units on all vertical layers within the area of effect.
Shining Wonder
Shining Wonder
Prioritizes enemy heroes when picking targets.
- Shining Wonder can be held indefinitely and fires when the ability key or firing key is released.
- Celeste has slower air glide when casting Shining Wonder in the air.
- Shining Wonder can hit and bounce from Troopers and Denizens, but not Objectives. If shot at an Objective, it will phase through.
- Shining Wonder's linger effect only exists for enemy heroes and the projectile will simply vanish if no viable target is found while on a trooper or Celeste herself.
- If Shining Wonder hits a shrine of either team or the shopkeeper, the projectile will linger without bouncing to other targets before disappearing.
Street Brawl
[edit | edit source]Ability Changes
[edit | edit source]In addition to global changes, Celeste receives the following modifications to her abilities:
Shining Wonder
[edit | edit source]- Max linger duration reduced by ~25%, from 3.25s to 2.5s.
Item Draft
[edit | edit source]In Street Brawl, every hero draws items from a shared pool, but some items are weighted to appear more often for a given hero and others less often. For each tier below, that tier's items are grouped by how likely they are to be offered to Celeste: High, Average, or Low chance.
Backstory
[edit | edit source]See Celeste/Lore for more story content.
“Even in a world of magic, some things are still rare and unusual. So what is a unicorn to do? Announce her presence to the world and potentially have poachers looking to saw off her horn? Or hide in plain sight at a Coney Island Side Show where most folk would assume her appearance was just part of an act?
Over the years "The Dazzling Celeste" has grown into one of the more popular attractions on Coney, and while the applause from a cheering audience is appreciated; what keeps her waking up in the morning is the found family she's made at work.
Keruba the Mermaid.
Blockhead Lenny.
Chickenwing.
Ted.
These were her people. So when she discovered that one of her own sold part of their soul in order to cover a gambling debt, Celeste knew it was time to step out of the shadows and do whatever it takes to get it back. Is revealing her power to The Patrons a risk? Yes. But that's tomorrow's problem... her family needs help today.
