Overview

When the player triggers Cheat Death, a visual effect of a scythe and a contract that reads "Savor your moments, cheat the end, but remember - Death always collects what is owed" appears above the player's head.

Notable Interactions

• The temporary death immunity can be ended early by the buff-removing effects of Cursed Relic or Nullification Burst.
  • Cursed Relic does not prevent the activation if it is applied before Cheat Death triggers (as it does not prevent passive effects).
• Cheat Death is triggered before a Rejuvenator Credit.
• Victor's Shocking Reanimation is triggered before Cheat Death.
  • An exception is for Shiv's Killing Blow, which will trigger Shocking Reanimation and Cheat Death at the same time. This is likely unintentional.

Trivia

• Cheat Death has the same name and similar effect to one of the abilities of the unreleased hero Rutger.
• Cheat Death's icon has been redesigned multiple times: Originally it showed a hand holding 5 aces in a poker game against Death, then as a person kicking the door of a coffin, and currently is a hand holding 5 aces including a skull suit.
