Background
See Mirage/Lore for more story content.
“The Djinn are one of the more curious groups of people in the modern world. Possessing great power in controlled doses, Djinn are incapable of maintaining corporeal form for longer than 48 minutes without resting within a vessel. As a result, most Djinn employ human bodyguards for transport, protection, and companionship.
Mirage is one such bodyguard. Employed by Djinn ambassador Nashala Dion, Mirage is in New York on a diplomatic mission. It's the hope of the Djinn that they can negotiate with the US government for a sale of part of Wyoming so that they can build a sovereign nation for their people.
Lore
Mirage's wish (which is moreso Nashala's wish) is to help Nashala buy a piece of Wyoming to turn into a home for the Djinn,[2][3][4] although he believes that Nashala doesn't need a wish to pull off the deal,[5] since the Djinn can offer America money and power.[6]
Mirage has worked for Nashala for a few years, after she approached him with a job offer.[7] Mirage is deeply loyal to Nashala and the Djinn's plight,[8][9] willing to die and kill for her.[10] While Mirage enjoys Nashala's company, he can find her frustrating to work with when she makes "impulsive, short-sighted" decisions (such as asking him to trust
Seven).[11] Mirage fights with Nashala by his side since he believes that's the safest place for her.[12] Anyone who wants to talk to Nashala must have Mirage's approval,[13] and anyone trying to steal or harm Nashala will be killed by Mirage.[14][15]
Mirage and Nashala haven't had the chance to do much sightseeing, but are looking forward to seeing various locales,[16][17] such as New Jersey and Columbia University.[18][19] Mirage has visited New York's Public Library.[17] Mirage wants to try eating a hot dog.[20]
Mirage views the Djinn as "people". He thinks some are "fascinating", but some others are "assholes".[21]
Mirage dislikes the Paradox Organisation, since they keep trying to steal Nashala for the Paradox Museum.[22][23][24]
While in New York, Mirage and Nashala are guests at the Baroness Hotel.[25][26]
Mirage likes to play bowling and calls it "the sport of kings". He learned it in England.[27]

Lady Geist,[34]
Seven[35] and
Wrecker.[36] - Mirage and
The Doorman are familiar with each other from the Baroness Hotel. Both are apologetic when killing each other.[37][38]

Silver and Vyper want Mirage to "stop yelling about the Djinn".[39][40][41]
- Paige admires Mirage and says he "stepped out of every romance novel ever written".[43][44] She thinks Mirage is better than Shiv.[45]
