Paige is a Hero in Deadlock. Citizens of Manhattan will learn to appreciate the power of the written word when Paige joins the fight. With the mere toss of a book she can Conjure Dragons that sear enemies who get too close, or bind them to the ground with Captivating Read. Waning allies will find themselves emboldened by Defend and Fight, granting them the courage to fight another day. Fantasy becomes reality with Rallying Charge, summoning an entire cavalry to gallop across the city.

Paige grew up with books, love, and kindness in her family home; but she was at odds with her rebellious younger brother, Bryce. He sought out dangerous occult magics, disappearing one day while Paige's normally-watchful eye was away. Now a talented bibliomancer, Paige seeks answers about her brother's disappearance and will stop at nothing to find the answers.

Paige was released on August 25, 2025 as the fourth hero of the Six New Heroes update (third winner of hero vote).

Chapter's End's projectiles can pierce through enemies. Items that proc on bullet hit such as   Mystic Shot only proc on the first enemy hit.

Chapter's End does not deal critical damage on headshots, but it does proc headshot items such as   Headshot Booster.

Paige can gain stacks from   Split Shot by hitting multiple players with the same projectile.

The daughter of a rare book dealer, Paige grew up in a loving home that prioritized kindness, magic, and storytelling. But while Paige took naturally to her parents' values, her little brother Bryce did not.

A rebellious teen, Bryce resented not only his family’s saccharine attitude, but also their refusal to let him dabble in magics that they deemed too dangerous. Paige tried everything she could think of to keep him out of trouble, but like most teenagers, the more his big sister tried to tell him what was best for him, the more he turned away.

Paige doesn't know what Bryce did to get kicked out of the house...just that she came home from the library to find her brother gone and her parents crying.

Days turned to weeks, to months, to years. Paige grew to become a talented bibliomancer, making a living as a storyteller reading at libraries across the five boroughs; and while her parents have remained silent about what happened with Bryce, Paige's obsession with finding him has only grown. She will discover what happened to her brother... and no man or god is going to stand in her way.

Lore

Paige loves reading all kinds of books, having set times of day for different types of books.[2] Aside from real-world novels, Paige has read books on  Kelvin's adventures and the Baxter Society.[3][4]

Paige reads books to kindergarteners.[5][6] She loved showing off Bookwyrm at the library, but was forced to stop after the dragon burnt some books.[7][8]

Paige describes her brother Bryce as a curmudgeon.[9]

Paige likes heroic men[10][11] and has a crush on   Mirage,[12]   Shiv[13] and  Victor.[14][15] She had a diary in high school where she wrote about byronic heroes.[16]

Trivia

  • Paige was one of the heroes in a private build who was accidently leaked on stream in May 2025.[46]
  • Paige was originally named Bookworm, and later renamed to Patience during development, before being changed to her current name. Some voice lines still refer to her as Patience,[47][48] but that is unintentional.[49]
  • Paige's ability VFX uses text from the book Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and the placeholder Lorem Ipsum text.
  • "Reading in the Hideout" is displayed as one's status in the in-game Friends List when playing as Paige in the Hideout.
  • Bookwyrm was originally named Conjure Dragon, and Plot Armor was originally named Defend and Fight!. These abilities were renamed based on feedback from a Reddit post by user u/CDranzer.[50]
  • Paige's reference sheet uses textures from TF2's Bombinomicon.
